Tyre Coupling

Tyre couplings are flexible couplings designed to transmit torque while accommodating misalignment, shock loads, and vibration in mechanical systems. They consist of two metal hubs connected by a flexible rubber tire element that absorbs vibrations and compensates for angular, axial, and radial misalignments between the connected shafts. The tire element, made from durable rubber or synthetic material, ensures smooth torque transmission while reducing wear and tear on machinery components. Tyre couplings are commonly used in industries like mining, manufacturing, and material handling.

One of the key advantages of tyre couplings is their ability to handle high levels of misalignment without transmitting harmful forces to the connected equipment. They provide excellent vibration damping, which helps protect sensitive machinery and reduces maintenance costs. The coupling’s design also allows for easy replacement of the rubber tire without having to disassemble the hubs, making it a cost-effective and time-efficient solution for maintaining mechanical systems in demanding industrial environments.
